The Orbital Sciences' StarBus platform is a Delta II class geosynchronous orbit satellite platform designed to accommodate payloads up to 200 kg and 550 W.  The StarBus platform is designed for a 7 to 10 year on orbit lifetime and can be modified to operate in LEO, MEO or deep space.   The square satellite structure is built around a central composite thrust tube, which houses the solid apogee kick motor.  Payload equipment is mounted on the nadir (Earth facing) deck as well as the two side panels opposite the craft's two articulating solar panels.  According to Orbital, modifications can be made to accommodate specific mission requirements, such as increase payload mass and power as well as improved pointing accuracy.  Orbital Sciences offers the StarBus spacecraft by itself, as an integrated satellite, or as a complete "turn-key service".
