International Standard Payload
Rack (ISPR)
The
International Standard Payload Rack (ISPR) is the standard for
human space laboratory research and development. The ISPR provides
a large volume for equipment, and resources such as power,
communication, thermal control, nitrogen supply, and waste gas
venting. The ISPR brings modularity, flexibility and
standardization to research. ISPRs provide flexible equipment
manifesting, delivery, integration, and return. Equipment
developed by multiple users may fit into one ISPR. While the
internal volume provides a multitude of outfitting options,
standard interfaces to resources are provided.
Each International
Standard Payload Rack provides:
- ~1.0 M.3
of internal payload volume
- 3 kW of power
(limited availability of 6 kW sites)
- Fiber optic high
rate data transmission
- Cooling loops
ranging between ~1 and ~24 deg. C.
