Production
activities at Alenia Spazio's Rome factory cover the
management and system design of telecommunication
satellites and Earth observation satellites, with
responsibility for the design of on-board antenna
systems and equipment. The plant also contains CAE/CAD
centers.
The Rome plant facilities include:
- a 450
mē class 100,000 clean room
- a 100
mē controlled area
- a 90 mē
area dedicated to dispatch of on-board equipment
- five
external test ranges for antennas, including a long
distance one (1700 m)
- two
small anechoic chambers
- one
high precision optical alignment system

of laboratories for equipment design
