   Volna - Summary

The Volna is an active submarine-launched ballistic missile, designated the R-29R / RSM-50 (NATO designation SS-N-18, 'Stingray'). It is a three-stage liquid fueled missile, capable of deploying small spacecraft in LEO. The Volna uses the warhead fairing to hold the spacecraft.

Volna translates from Russian into English as "wave".
