   Shtil - Summary

The Shtil is an active submarine-launched ballistic missile, designated the R-29RM (NATO designation SS-N-23). It is a three-stage liquid fueled missile, capable of deploying small spacecraft in LEO. The Shtil 1 uses the warhead fairing to hold the spacecraft, whereas the Shtil 2 has a larger separating fairing to hold larger spacecraft.
