Taiwan
to Launch Six Micro Weather Satellites
Taiwan's
National Science Council (NSC) and the US National Science
Foundation signed an agreement to produce and launch six micro
satellites for weather forecasting. Data gathered by the six micro
satellites would be relayed to the U.S. for analysis before it is
sent back to Taiwan. Taiwan will play a role in the manufacturing of
the six micro satellites with five indigenous companies likely to be
awarded the contracts to provide major components. The six
satellites will be launched by the U.S.
