Solar
Array Problems in Sirius Satellite
Sirius Satellite
Radio has confirmed that some of its satellites are having minor
problems with circuits in their solar arrays. Space Systems/Loral
built the Sirius satellites. The circuit problems are not expected
to limit the power of the broadcast signal, nor reduce the expected
operational life of the satellites.
Loral
has reported that a number of other Space Systems/Loral satellites
potentially have a similar problem, but continue to function
normally, staying well within their “full design power.” Loral
is to watching the affected satellites closely.
