Incoming
Bush Administration Makes Changes at NASA
Daniel S. Goldin
will continue as NASA’s Administrator until the incoming
Bush administration completes making final decisions about who will
lead the space agency. Courtney Stadd, who advised the Bush
transition team on NASA issues, will serve as NASA’s chief of
staff and White House liaison.
NASA announced
temporary replacements for several top-level managers who were
appointed to their positions by former President Bill Clinton:
- Steve
Varholy replaces Arnold Holz as acting chief financial Officer.
- Mary
Dee Kerwin replaces Edward Heffernan as acting associate
administrator for legislative affairs. Heffernan had also served
as Goldin’s chief of staff.
- Paula
Cleggett replaces Peggy Wilhide as acting associate
administrator for public affairs.
- Beth McCormick replaces Lori
Garver as acting associate administrator for policy and plans.
