Eutelsat
Expected to Order e-Bird From Boeing
Eutelsat
has tentatively selected Boeing Satellite Systems to build
Eutelsat's e-Bird spacecraft for delivery in 2002. The satellite
would be based on the BSS 376 bus. Boeing is winning the order
because it was able to commit to a faster delivery than
its competitors. The contract should be signed in the coming weeks.
This
would be Eutelsat’s first order from a U.S. satellite
manufacturer. Eutelsat is working towards a goal of becoming
privatized later this year.
