The Boeing
Company's has merged the Delta 2, Delta 3 and Delta 4 programs into
a single organization. The new organization will provide customers a
single point of contact and help preserve continuity of service for
Delta 2 and Delta 3 customers.
The move combining
the programs follows the earlier consolidation of Delta
manufacturing into company facilities in Decatur, Ala., and Pueblo,
Colo. Combining the organizations will centralize interfaces with
suppliers, many of whom already provide parts and systems for each
Delta vehicle configuration. The move also brings together many of
the support functions, like supplier management, procurement,
quality and mission assurance and is expected to ensure more
efficient management of assets.
