Energiya
May Join With MirCorp to Develop Free Flyer Module
Energiya has
announced plans to develop a module designed for commercial purposes
such as tourism. It would be able to both orbit  on
its own and dock with the Russian section of the International Space
Station. The new space station, described as a free flying module,
could be ready within a couple of years. MirCorp is expected to
finance the project, which could cost up to US$300 million.
Rosaviacosmos
has not been involved in any discussions about the project.
