Astrium has filed a
US$150 million lawsuit against
TRW Inc. and others in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. Astrium
accuses the company of providing defective solar arrays. The
problems, which affected nin e
telecommunication satellites, was caused by a coating provided by
Corning's Optical Filter unit. The suit alleges that TRW and
Pilkington Optromics failed to disclose the problems with the
coating. Astrium incurred US$150 million in damages from customers
lawsuits.
