Completes Purchase Of Columbia Corp.

American Communications Inc. (GE Americom) has completed its
acquisition of Columbia Communications Corp. as of September 1. The
purchase, pending since 1999, gives GE Americom access to  Columia’s
orbital slots over the Atlantic and Pacific, one operating satellite
(Columbia 515, previously known as Intelsat 515), and leased access
to two TDRS satellites owned by NASA.
