Inmarsat
Contracts for Atlas V Launch

Inmarsat Ventures
plc, London, signed a contract with International Launch Services
(ILS) for the launch of at least one Inmarsat I-4 series
satellites, during 2003 or 2004, using an Atlas
V rocket. The
contract includes options for additional launches. Financial terms
were not disclosed.
The Atlas V is
scheduled to make its first launch in May 2002. Inmarsat becomes
the sixth commercial customer to sign up for the Atlas V.
Inmarsat
has ordered three 6000 kg (13,224 lbm) Astrium Eurostar 3000 model
satellites for its Inmarsat I-4 series.
