Military Satellite
A
Kosmos 3M rocket successfully launched Kosmos 2378 from Plesetsk
Cosmodrome at 0412 UTC on June 8. The satellite was launched into
a 981 x 1023 km (530 x 552 nmi) orbit, inclined at 82.9°. The
orbit suggests the satellite may be a Parus spacecraft used for
navigation by the Russian Navy. The classified satellite’s solar
panels and radio aerials successfully deployed and all its systems
are reported to be operating normally.
