Proton Launches Classified Russian Satellite
A
Russian Proton K/DM-2 launched a classified military
communications satellite, Kosmos 2372, from Pad 24 in Area 81 at Baikonur
Cosmodrome at 1908 UTC (1:08 p.m. PDT) August 28.
The satellite will provide communications for the Russian Ministry
of Defense (VKS). This satellite is a Globus bus built by NPO
Prikladnoy Mekhaniki, a
follow-on to the Raduga series, often referred to as
Raduga-1.
